Our Custom Home Building Process.

1. Ideas and Planning

During our first meeting with you at your home or new property, our team will take the time to learn all about the desires and goals you have for your new custom home, as well as to discuss any of the possible challenges the project might face. Once we have determined if we are the best custom home builders for your specific job requirements, we will start exploring design and build team options.

2. Pre-Design

Our second meeting with you will be held at our office, where we will go over our project management process and get you to sign a pre-construction consultation agreement that will allow us to work together as a team. At this stage, we can also provide you with advice on how to select the right architect, interior designer, and landscape designer for your project.

Our team will then assess your property to see if there are any environmental or stability issues that will affect the build envelope, as well as set up a time for you to see some of our completed projects.

3. Architectural Process

Once you have selected an architect to work on your custom home building project, we will work closely with them on initial concept drawings, budgeting, home specifications, and to complete an engineering assessment on the design concept to decipher any potential financial implications. We will even take care of making any design adjustments if needed.

4. Budgeting and Scheduling

Our team will put together a working budget and construction schedule that we will go over with you. As we discuss the budget and scheduling, we will also walk you through how our team will deal with any changes or complications that might arise during the construction process.

5. Pre-Construction

Next, we will finalize the budget with you and sign a construction agreement. Our team will then apply and work with the city to obtain the required building permit.

6. Construction

Our goal is to keep a clean, friendly, and open work environment. That is why, during the construction process, we will meet with you and your designer on a bi-monthly basis or as needed to review the budget and schedule, go over any concerns that arise, and to keep you up to date on scheduling and how the project is moving forward.

7. Post Construction

Once your project has been completed, we will provide you with a tailor-made operation manual for your new custom home. Our team will even take the time to follow up with you 6 and 12 months after the project is finished to find out if there are any concerns that we can address for you.

At HunFeld Custom Builders, we want to help you make the most out of your custom home building experience. That is why we always strive to ensure that you will be just as happy and proud of the building process as you are of the finished project. If you need help maintaining the beauty and functionality of your home, we also offer estate management services.
